Managing products, categories and prices

You maintain your menu in Horeca Manager: products, categories, VAT, options and separate prices for pickup and delivery.

Where you maintain the menu

In Horeca Manager, go to Products. At the top are two tabs: Products and Categories. What you change here is live on the POS and in your webshop straight away — there is nothing to sync.

Adding a product

  1. 1Tap New product.
  2. 2Fill in Name and Price (€). Nothing else is required.
  3. 3Pick a Category and the right VAT rate.
  4. 4Optional: description, SKU, Photo, Allergens and Options.
  5. 5Save.

A different price for pickup or delivery

Below the price are Pickup price and Delivery price. Leave them empty and both simply use the standard price. Only fill them in when you genuinely charge something different online than at the table.

Preparation station

If you work with production stations, Preparation station decides where the ticket prints. By default a product follows its category; you can override it per product.

Categories

The Categories tab defines the layout your floor staff see on the POS. A category has a name, a colour and optionally a station. You set the order by dragging a category by its handle — that is the order on the POS too, so put what you ring up most first.

Availability

Per product you decide where it may be sold: Available in POS and Available in webshop. So a dish that has run out does not have to be deleted.

Switching a product off under Webshop → Availability only applies online: the POS keeps selling it. If it has to go everywhere, set the product to Inactive.

A whole menu at once

For a new menu or a price round you do not have to open every product. The products screen has Bulk upload products to read in a whole list, and Assign VAT in bulk to apply a rate to a range of products in one go.

All you can eat

If you run an all-you-can-eat concept, every product gets three extra questions: whether the dish is part of the arrangement, whether it carries a surcharge, and whether it counts towards the limit per round. That way drinks stay out of the throttle while individual specials are still paid for separately.
