Moving an order, merging tables and switching servers

The guests move to the terrace, two tables turn out to be one party, or a colleague takes the table over.

The table menu

Everything below sits in the same menu: go to the floor plan and press and hold the table. Which options you see depends on the status of the table.

Moving an order

Guests move outside, or you rang up the wrong table.

  1. 1Press and hold the table with the order.
  2. 2Choose Move order.
  3. 3Pick the target table.

The whole order moves along, including what already went to the kitchen. The old table is freed up.

Merging tables

Two tables that turn out to be one party can be settled on a single bill.

  1. 1Press and hold one of the tables.
  2. 2Choose Merge tables.
  3. 3Pick the tables that belong together.

The orders come together on one bill. You can still split later in the payment screen — see Splitting a bill.

Switching servers

Is a colleague taking over the table, or was it rung up under the wrong name? Choose Switch server and select the right staff member. That is not just tidy on the bill: it also determines whose revenue and tips the table counts towards in reporting.

Marking tables free and clean

  • Mark as cleaned — set a settled table back to available.
  • Open table for guests — open the table without ringing anything up yet. Needed when guests order via the QR code at the table: that code only works while the table is open.
  • Release all tables — clears everything at the end of the day in one go. This also appears as a check in the end-of-day flow, see End of day.
